...our corner of the world... LONGVIEW, TENNESSEE
Longview is a community located in a northern portion of Bedford County in Middle Tennessee.
It is adjacent to Rutherford County, and it has had close connection with some of the communities in that county as well.
A committee has been working on writing the history of the area. Submissions for family history stories are being accepted. The committee will also accept other interesting stories, historical articles, old pictures, or anything of interest about the history of Longview and nearby areas. Please don't wait. Our final deadline for submissions has passed. However, if you promised to write an article, and haven't turned it in yet, please contact Arline, Carolyn, or another member of the committee as soon as possible. This is a once in a lifetime chance to see your history published so that it will not be lost as time passes by. This has happened to so much of the history already. For information on submitting articles contact Carolyn Smotherman or
Arline Sudberry Other members of the committee are Nell Holden, Rita Milam, Nancy Puckett, Larry Ray, and William King
We are currently processing the material and our goal is to have it completed by mid-summer 2012.
*Special Note: The purpose of this website is to inform you of the availability of the Longview
History Book. I have not researched many of the names and therefore cannot supply information, as I do not have that amount of time.
